I specialize in reducing sports injuries and preventing injuries in female athletes. I started working in the physical therapy field as a volunteer during high school. This, combined with my experience as a soccer and softball player, inspired my passion to help athletes stay in the game and off the sidelines.
During graduate school I served on a task force in the Club Sports and Intramural Department, working on injury prevention and emergency preparedness for student athletes. I also have 8 years of experience as an EMT, which I continue to do part time. Working as an EMT allows me to help others in need and give back to my community, but I never know how things turn out with each patient. As a physical therapist I am able to see my patients through every challenge, from their moment of need to gaining their independence back.
My ultimate goal is to help give my patients their lives back without limitations. Some of the most rewarding moments that I have ever experienced as a physical therapist are when I am able to allow my patients to participate in a hobby that they’ve been restricted in due to pain or injury – such as returning to play soccer post knee surgery, or allowing a patient to wear heels for an upcoming wedding when they haven’t been able to for 8 months. When treating local athletes, I will often attend a sporting event where they are competing again to see how far they have come.
Your journey as an athlete and a patient is important to me, and I will do everything I can to ensure that you can get back to your life with confidence.
